LARGE SPAN STEEL DOME ARENAS
SUMMARY
Sports arenas require column-free spaces. Steel dome structures are the most effective structures for the construction of large spans. Using Rot-Up method of construction in combination with a special type of mechanical connections makes it possible to construct large span shell structures very economically and in a very short period of time.
REINFORCED CONCRETE RESIDENTIAL HOUSES
SUMMARY
Reinforced concrete houses are practically maintenance free and can withstand natural disasters such as fire, tornados, hurricanes and termites. The high construction cost of such houses has made it next to impossible for average income people to own them. Using Rot-Up method of construction high quality reinforced concrete houses can be constructed in a relatively short period of time at an affordable cost. In the construction process of such houses, all the sections comprising the house such as walls, roofs and floors are cast as sandwich type sections and then rotated up to the final positions by means of two 90 degree rotations.
LARGE SPAN CONCRETE SHELL
SUMMARY
In order to use the Rot-Up method of construction for reinforced barrel shell structures, the shell roof and the stiffening elements are cast on the ground and then lifted to the final position by means of rotations. This method of construction, when used for the construction of reinforced concrete shell structures, practically eliminates most of the formwork, scaffolding, working at elevation and use of heavy machinery. Furthermore, it makes it possible to cast sections that have low weight and high moment of inertia.
